No Newfoundland wedding, engagement or styled shoot is complete without some element of nature involved. This nature-inspired styled elopement shoot in St. John's, Newfoundland was set on Cobbler Path on the East Coast Trail, a sprawling 300 km of paths across Newfoundland.
"I love Newfoundland. Despite the weather, there's just something so special about our beautiful province. So when I got this idea to plan a styled editorial, I knew immediately I wanted it to be an elopement showcasing the natural beauty of Newfoundland. And what better place to do that than on the East Coast Trail, a sprawling 300km of paths across the island. I chose Cobbler Path, which is one of my favourites. Prior to the shoot, I had envisioned the setting taking place out on Torbay Point - a beautiful backdrop of cliff and ocean views. But, true to Newfoundland form, on the day of the scheduled shoot, the fog was rolling in so thick you could hardly see a thing. At the last minute, the wonderful ladies of By Sharpe Design who were handling the decor (including lugging a giant door and pallet into the woods) found a beautiful little clearing on the path. So as luck would have it, not only did the setting turn out better than I had imagined, but I also managed to drag our amazing models ten minutes down the trail to the point to grab a few final shots in the fog. A true Newfoundland elopement."
